Mesha was overweight.  She was 220 lbs and was five foot .despite her weight she was not ugly. She had a prety face. She placed her hair in a pony tail. She was well liked and had a good reputation. 

Her mom died of cancer when she was young. Her dad owned her own bussiness. It was a construction bussiness. It did well but he spent mony to build up the compony. He was not the best at managing mony. He was good at his trade. That helped but not enough.  

His family incured a lot of debt from his late wifes medical bills. He took loans to build up the compony. The company was close to geting back on its feet. Then there was more bad news. 

There was a huge ecomonic downturn. The housing market colapsed. Several banks went insolvent.  There was a major ecomic collapse.  Really a new great depression.  Indications were that it was only going to worse. 

The response of the government was weak.   The president was from a different political party then the congress. The president had been emboiled in a scandal about giving doners top political jobs. His health was falling. His vice president resigned hoping to distence himself from his boss. He was unable to fill the posistion. Congress refused to even consider his vp nominee. 

The president neared the end of his term. The president wanted to end his term quietly.  The ecominic depression and ensuring political upheval left that impossible.  

There was little work. Homes were being foreclosed.  There were bread lines. Many cherity Group fell victom to the ecominic downturn and varnished.  This caused riots and revolts.  There were clahes between the police and rioters. Many state governors mobilized the national gaurd. The situation went from bad to worse. 

Misha got caught in the middle of it. Her dad was on the right tract before the crises began.  The bank that held the loan went belly up. The bank that took over the bank called in the loan. They seized his house and bussiness. He was unemployed and homeless. 

Misha had worked at a mall. The mall closed down.  She was out of work. There was no work. She would had a hard time gerting a job anyways because of her weight. With the absence of work the sutuation was worse. It was almost impossible for her to find a job. 

Her dad managed to get a job working for the federal recovery agency.  He was helping to build what were called habitat homes. There were sheleters for displaced people. He was not making a lot of mony. He got to live in a lahey villege. He got a roof over his head.  

Then that too was short lived. While on a letter, he had a mishap. He fell tp his death.  The f.r.a did bot offer any kibs of life insurence so misha was up a creak again.  

She could not get a job. No one was hiring and if they were they were not hire her.  She could not get a job with a government agency due to her health and her weight. 

She had to sleep in basically a refuge camp. It was a tent citty run by an international relief agentcy. She had to stay in a tent with there other girls. It was uncomfortable.  Bathing consisted of going in a river. It was cold at night.  She cudled with her tent mates. They had no blankets. Bathroom consisted of a realy gross porta potty. 

She hoped that things were imporove. Like the great depression of the 1930s,this would pass eventually. It just had to. She tried to stay positive

The people demanded that the government take action. Neither the president or congress wanted to. Finally congress did something. Thet took action.  There solution was a bit unconventional to say the least. 

The congress passed the road to a better future act (fuba) . The act reinsated slavery. The law exampted African Americans or minority.  The law provided protection for slaves. The congress got the suport of cival liberty groups by letting them writing the law. They included provisions Thet protected animals from crulty due to the hard times. 

The act was hevily debated. It did pass the house. It passed the senate.it was a constitutional amendment so it had to be ratified. It finaly was. Slavery was back in the united states.

A “brilent” congresman  from south decota came up with the idea to force all in government tent city to be sold as slaves. The bill passed. The united states marshal now had an additional mandate. Round up all” economic refugies” and have them sold off at a slave actuon.

Misha was bathing in the river with her roommates.  They had become friends.  They did not mind being naked in front of eachother. They did commonly.

They were all put in vans. The vans had the markings united department of better future. Misha and her friends were taken to a changing area. Misha was ordered to strip naked.  She hated being naked in front of orhers. She had lost weight in the refuge camp but she was still overweight.

Gaven had her work in the day time. She cleaned.  She dusted and vacumed the main house. She did it in the nude. Gaven watched her. It was not hard work.

He wanted her to stay a bug girl. He let her eat fatty food. She could have all of her favorite foods.

Slavery reinstated

With an economic downturn as well as factories disappearing and the rise of automaton,  there was hard times. Unemployment was at an all time high. There were not many job available. This caused an economic recession really a depression . the government tried to avoid using that term. Homelessness was at an all time high. 

Many homes were being forclosed. They were abandoned.  Homes that could be utilized but they  were not because no could aford them. The government tried to introduce a new curentcy. The old currency remaned in cirluation but were worth less. It made things worse.  

After food roots, the government tried various welfare programs.  They led to more unrest.  The voters booted the majority party from congress. 

A new party ran on fixing the problem.  They were determined to improving  the solution.  The new congress decided on a little bit of an unorthodox idea on how to deal with all of this. 

They decided to propose reinstating slavery.  There would be a cabinet level department that would oversee the slaves. That had to be rules abd oversight and inspection.  The slaves had to be to be well cared for and have acess to health cares. There would be a strict regimin. Those who would own slaves could lose there right to own slaves even end up in prison.  

It had ita deteactors. The congressman that drafted the bill rewrote the bill. They got imput from the a.c.l. u who helpes draft a revised bill. They exampted african American from the slavery. Slavery would be voluntary servitude except for debt. The debts would have to be at an astronomical nymber. The order to be placed into slavery had to be authorized by a slavery judge.

Even with the new bill, the  case was still very controversial.  It did have some deteactors.  After a protected debate, the house of representatives did pass. A bill pased in the senate. They ironed out a final bill in a cobfrence bill. The bill eventually did pass and was signed into law by the president. 

What was considered impossible happened. Slavery was once again legal.  The entire country changed in no time. No one was really expexting this.

Slavery did not come back over night. It took time to set up the protocol and regime to be in place. A masive bureaucracy was put in place first. Then slave markets were set up. Then the idea of slavery as a real construct started to form and could be seen. 

People started to turn them selves over to become slaves.  Some volunteered to go into slavery to pay off debts.  Some in terrible debt had to go before slavery tribunerals. In several months,  it was clear,slavery was back.  Many felt it was hear to stay. Political experts seemed to agree.  

Katie’s parent’s were fairly well off. They had owned there own home. He owned his own business.  Her mom had been a judge. They were in a good place financially.  

Then it all changed, her mom got sick. She got cancer. She had to undergo a lot of treatments. She received some experimental treatments as well. Even though she had waged a brave fight, she did eventualy sircumb to the efects of the cancer.

Not only did her dad have to deal woth the loss of his wife, he had other difficulties as well. He was straped with a masive hospital bill. He had to refinance his home. 

Then there was an economic crash. Then her father died in a car crash. The home was forclosed on. The business was sold but the procedes went to pay off the debt. It hardly helped. Things were still bad. She was still in a lot of debt.  She was not sure how to get her head above watter. 

She had been admitted to several colleges. She could not even aford to go to a community college.  

She was constently being dodged by bill collectors.  She had no idea what to do. She had two jobs but they were not even close to helping.  

She was totaly bewildered.  She cried and cried. She got an apartment but her wages started to be garnished.  A bill that forbid garnishment that would make survival dificult was repealed by the new congress. 

She had no safty net. She lived in her car. Then that was repossessed by the bill collectors.  She was on the streets.  She still had to work. 

Then the slavery law came into effect. She did some investifating and found a reputable slave auction compony. She aplied to be a slave. She was accepted. 

She went to the auction sight. First she went though a health screening.  She wore a green dress. “Please remove your dress. ” the female nurse said. She did so. Her heart was checked. She underwent a urine test.  She had some blood drawn. Her blood presure was checked. Her back and brest were checked. She was given a clean bill of health. 

She was alowed to put the dress on. The debt colectors were wiling to let her go into slavery. She look at the form. She read everything.  She left no stone unturned. She finaly signed in. 

She had stripped naked. She was put in chains. She was put in a cage. There was a row of ladies all naked in cages. 

She was sold to a husbend and wife who had a son and five daughters.  She liked it there.  She cooked abs cleaned . it was not hard work.

Slavery is ilegal in the white zone. No nation inside the a.i.l condone slavery. The barbariens enjoy kidnaping lawyers (there euphemism for people who people inside the white zones. )
